International Exchange
Since its founding in 1925, Tenri University has promoted foreign language instruction in order to deepen intercultural understanding based on heart-to-heart communication, and has actively supported academic exchanges and goodwill sports matches with partners from various countries of the world. In hope of furthering these achievements, the University continues to enter exchange agreements and create new programs for study abroad.

International Students
Tenri University considers the acceptance of international students as indispensable for meeting the demands of an increasingly globalizing world. The Japanese Language major established in the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of International Studies, is specifically designed for foreign students. It has drawn students from a wide range of countries: Brazil, Canada, China, France, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, the Ukraine, and the United States. The University welcomes interaction between these students and their Japanese counterparts, which deepens mutual understanding of their languages and cultures, and helps students from abroad adapt to their new surroundings.
