"Social Education Learning Support" Program
Students aim to acquire certification as a social educator. Students will develop the ability to contribute to the local community as a government employee, community center employee, or employee of a social education or community development related organization while utilizing their professional skills.

“Local Cultural Resource Utilization and Cultural Administration” Program
Students will work toward certification as a librarian or social educator. Students learn about local cultural policy and administration necessary for government employees, community center staff, library staff, and educational administration staff.

Culture and Sports Support Program
Students acquire professional skills and planning and management skills to support lifelong learning, and aim for employment as government employees and instructors who are active in a wide range of cultural and sports fields, as well as in cultural and sports-related companies.

Admission Policy
In order to fulfill the educational goals of the Department of Social Education, we seek for people with the following qualities:
1. (Motivation) Those who are interested in the significance of “Social Education” and “Lifelong Education,” diverse learning in society, or cultural activities in the community.
2. (Motivation) Those who are highly motivated to learn on their own with the aim of supporting the learning of others.
3. (Knowledge, Skills) Those who wish to acquire specialized professional skills, such as a bachelor's degree in social education.
4. (Thought, Knowledge, Skills) Those who are interested in contemporary issues concerning peopleand society.
5. (Creation, Action) Those who wish to acquire the ability to specifically explore ways to realize a better society through “Social Education.”
6. (Motivation) Those who have active experience in the field of social and extracurricular activities, and who are interested in social education.
Entrance examination methods will take various forms, such as comprehensive selection, special selection, school recommended selection, general selection, and transfer selection.Curriculum Policy
Courses related to specialized knowledge and skills that contribute to understanding the significance of social education in a lifelong learning society and to supporting lifelong learning and the utilization of cultural resources in local communities are systematically arranged in three programs.
In the first year, students take introductory seminars, and in the second and third years, they take courses from basic subjects to advanced subjects. In the third year, there are seminars to cultivate expertise in each program, and in the fourth year, there are seminars to prepare students to write a graduation thesis or complete a research project as a summary of the their studies.
We also actively collaborate with the local community, schools, and government, to offer practicum subjects that involve practical social education and community collaboration. Throughout the four years, we offer a curriculum that allows students to gain professional skills in supporting lifelong learning through social education while also being exposed to a variety of learning environments.Diploma Policy
A bachelor’s degree (Social Education) will be awarded to students who have acquired the following knowledge and abilities:
1. (Motivation, Attitude) Those who cultivate a desire and attitude to continue learning throughout one’s life.
2. (Motivation, Attitude, Thought) Those who advance understanding of contemporary issues related to people and society, and look at diverse learning in society.
3. (Knowledge) Those who have acquired the knowledge of social education that contributes to the formation of a lifelong learning society.
4. (Knowledge, Skills, Action) Those who have acquired professional skills with expertise in social education and will be able to work as social education directors, social educators, or other learning support staff.
5. (Creation, Action) Those who are able to explore specific measures to realize a better society from the perspective of “education, learning, culture, and society.”
