The educational and research objective is to cultivate human resources who, as members of society, have abundant knowledge, have acquired highly specialized technology and skills related to medical care, have fostered a sincere scientific spirit, have a deep affection for others, and humble minds to discipline themselves, based on Tenrikyo’s philosophy of exerting oneself for the sake of others.

Department of Nursing Science

We will provide training to develop medical personnel with the abilities, skills, and attitudes to practice nursing according to the growth and development stages and health stages of individuals, families, and people in the community who are the subject to nursing care through:

 1. Exploration of nursing to serve people as an integration of humanity and art
 2. Integrating science and art to develop practical nursing skills that meet all health levels and nursing needs
 3. Cultivating the ability to collaborate with related professionals through collaborative learning with students of different departments and academic years

The above three objectives are to train nurses who have a broad range of education, deep specialized knowledge of nursing, scientific knowledge of nursing, practical nursing skills, and a caring heart.

Department of Clinical Laboratory Science

The academic fields explored and educated by the Department of Clinical Laboratory Science are morphological examinations (blood tests, pathological examination, etc.), biochemical analysis and inspection (biochemical examination, genetic testing, urine and body fluid analysis, etc.), laboratory tests which include etiology and biological defense tests (immunological check up, microbiological examination, blood transfusion and transplantation testing, etc.), and biological function tests such as ultrasonography, electrocardiography, EEG, and MR testing, which collect biological information directly from the patients. In addition, students will also learn about information processing necessary for clinical testing, accuracy assurance, laboratory information systems, so-called integrated laboratory management such as medical engineering, interpretation methods of test data (pathological analysis), clinical research methods, infection control, and application of clinical tests to nutritional management. The objective of this course is to train human resources who have acquired the basic knowledge and skills to be able to work at medical facilities, testing centers, manufacturers of reagent and equipment manufacturers, research institutes, etc. after graduation.
